Zimbabwe will do its best to help thousands of Indonesians affected by last Saturday's earthquake which left more than 5,700 people dead and more than 3,000 injured, Vice President Joice Mujuru said on Thursday.
She said this when she opened a book of condolences for the earthquake victims. "We share with you the tragic loss, yet again by nature's unpredictable changes," she said.
"We hope that the international community will take the challenge to assist the victims in their hour on need," She said, promising Zimbabwe's assistance to those affected.
Indonesian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Hupudio Supardi said the victims were in urgent need of food, medical equipment, shelter and blankets.
"We are grateful for all the support we have received since the Tsunami disaster which killed thousands of our people in December 2004," said Supardi.
