Polish-French economic relations are good and France hopes they can be still better, French Minister for Foreign Trade Christine Lagarde was quoted as saying on Friday by polish news agency PAP.
"We hope for further development and fostering of our economic relations," Lagarde said during a meeting with entrepreneurs of the French Commercial and Trade Chamber in Warsaw.
She recalled that France was the biggest foreign investor in Poland and encouraged Polish firms to invest in France.
At present 10,000 French firms export their goods to Poland. French firms have to-date invested 17 billion euros (21.9 billion dollars) in Poland and created 175,000 jobs.
Trade turnover between France and Poland reached 3 billion euros in the 1st quarter of 2006, up 55 percent from the previous year.
On Friday Lagarde met Polish Foreign Minister Anna Fotyga and Economy Minister Piotr Wozniak to discuss bilateral problems.
