On May 30, the spokesman of Haier to South Korea revealed that Haier group was planning to purchase Trigem, a computer manufacturer in South Korea.
Trigem is the third biggest computer manufacturers of South Korea, with its sales volume drawing up to Samsung and LG.
Before that, Haier had turned its eyes to Hyunju, which plunged into bankruptcy last year amid the price war. Some sources claim that Haier's negotiation with Hyunju still continues.
According to insiders, Haier used to lean towards pushing its international strategy through setting up factories abroad and establishing brand recognition. The result of this method turned out to be disappointingly slow.
Its bidding for Maytag (the second largest household electrical appliances maker behind GE in the US) jointly with some other investors with 1.2 billion US dollars last year has shown its favor on transnational acquisition.
Zhang Ruimin, CEO of Haier co., Ltd, have expressed in an interview with an overseas media recently that Haier is negotiating with an Indian fridge manufacturer and the deal is expected to be be finished in the late days of this year.
