Senegalese president meets senior Chinese officialSenegalese President Abdoulaye Wade met on Saturday in Dakar with Wang Zhongyu, a vice-chairman of China's top advisory body, and they agreed on the need to strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation. Noting the good exchange and cooperation between Senegal and China since the reestablishment of diplomatic ties, Wade expressed the hope that more Chinese enterprises would come and invest in Senegal. Wang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said both China and Senegal face the task of developing their economies, increasing employment and alleviating poverty. The two countries share common ground on many international issues and have coordinated with and support each other in international affairs, Wang said. Wang said China attaches great importance to developing relations with Senegal. Noting the huge potential for increased cooperation between the two countries, Wang said the development of bilateral friendly relations and cooperation serves the fundamental interests of both countries and peoples.
