Thai PM to attend security meeting in Central Asia
font size

Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will attend the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Kazakhstan scheduled for June 16-17, Thai Foreign Minister Kantathi Suphamongkhon said on Monday.

Kantathi, who will join the premier's entourage, said that it would be the first time that Thailand attended the central Asian security conference as a member.

Thailand, he said, is keen to strengthen relations and cooperation with the oil-rich Central Asian countries which now play more important roles in international community.

The Thai Foreign Ministry will facilitate prospective Thai investors who are interested in investing in the region, Kantathi promised.
