China undertakes Laos Telecom reconstruction

The Laos Telecom reconstruction project, the biggest cooperation contract between China and Laos, was signed in Beijing.

This project consists of the reconstruction of telecom infrastructure, and the deployment of the Internet and cable television broadcasting system.

A company based in Shaanxi Province in Northwest China will be responsible for the general integration.

It is also one of the greatest foreign cooperation projects in China and will last for years with an investment of over 1 billion US dollars.
