font size

The Chinese government has approved assistance for Samoa to build a new multi million dollar headquarters for the Lands and Titles court.

According to Tuesday's reports from Pacific Magazine, a local news service, the financial aid package will also construct a separate complex to house offices for parliamentarians next to the parliament house at Mulinu'u peninsular.

Samoa's Finance Minister, Niko Lee Hang, has thanked the Chinese government for their generosity in extinguishing Samoa's debt of approximately 11.5 million U.S. dollars.

China has also provided 6 million U.S. dollars to upgrade a sports stadium in preparation for 2007 South Pacific Games.

China has already help to build an aquatic center for swim competition.
