Namibia will remove business visas requirements for Zambians at the end of this month to promote the bilateral trade, Zambia Daily Mail reported Tuesday.
This will be done on a reciprocal basis since Zambia does not charge Namibians traveling to Zambia to do various kinds of
businesses, the newspaper reported.
In another move to promote the bilateral trade, the two countries constructed a border bridge in 2004 and Zambia's export increased from 4.21 million U.S. dollars in 2004 to 12.160 million dollars in 2005.
The import from Namibia rose to 8.783 million dollars in 2005 from 5.424 million dollars in 2004.
Zambia's major exports to the neighboring country include maize, cotton seeds, sugar, electric energy, semi-precious stones, cereal flour, wood, cane molasses and mixing machinery.
Imports from Namibia include mackerel fish, vegetable fats and oils, mineral water, beer, salt, fuel oils and fans.
