    Black Apple

    Apple Computer launched its new collection of laptops, U2 iPod, with a new all-black enclosure yesterday, which marks a great change to Apple as the white enclosure has become a classic. The U2 iPod is equipped with Intel CPU, with a floor price of 10,900 yuan. It is learnt that Apple has no plan to change the color of iPod.

    Malformed baby has third arm removed

    A 2-month-old baby boy born with three arms underwent a successful operation on 6 June,2006 at Shanghai Children's Medical Centre to remove his extra limb. He is the third instance of its kind in the world.The baby is expected to recover from the operation in one to two months, but rehabilitation could take a long time, according to Chen Bochang, head of the orthopaedics department of the hospital.

    Clothesline challenge on World Environment Day

    People hang the laundries on the clothesline on Trafalgar Square in London, capital of Britain, on June 5, 2006. A long clothesline was built on Trafalgar Square on the World Environment Day to challenge the longest clothesline world record of 33,081 metres created by Turkish in May of 2004. Environmentalists hoped to remind people to dry their laundries in a nature way instead of using washing machines to protect the environment. However, the challenge failed with a length of about 21,000 metres. (Xinhua)
