The telecommunication industry in China maintains a sound and fast growth. According to the statistic of the Ministry of Information Industry (MII), telephone users in China had mounted to 775 million by April 2006.

Song Naiqi, an official with the Office of the Telecommunications Authority under MII, revealed in Shenyang, Liaoning province.

She added that the number consisted of 360 million fixed telephone users and 415 million mobile phone users.
