Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and his Spanish counterpart Miguel Angel Moratinos conferred on solving the Iranian nuclear issue through diplomatic negotiations in a telephone conversation Saturday afternoon, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The two sides agreed that the issue should be settled through

diplomatic negotiations and with peaceful means, the ministry said.

They also pledged to further promote healthy development of China-Spain comprehensive strategic partnership.
