Al-Qassam Brigades, armed wing of Palestinian ruling Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) reiterated Saturday that it is no longer abide to a truce with Israel, vowing to resume its attacks against the Jewish state.
"Since the end of the 2005, we said we are free from the truce and there is no declared truce between us and the Zionist enemy," Abu Obaida, spokesman of the group, told reporters shortly after his group fired 12 homemade rockets into Israel.
He said that "the awful Israeli crimes that happened yesterday in Gaza had compelled us to respond."
Palestinian security sources said that Israeli naval gunboats fired three shells at the beach of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip Friday afternoon, killing eight Palestinians and wounding 35 others.
Meanwhile, Israel launched four airstrikes on suspected
militants in the northern Gaza Strip in the same day, killing three Palestinians and wounding five others, security sources and witnesses reported.
Abu Obaida vowed to keep resistance against Israel, adding that "the battle with the Israelis is open now."
