An Egyptian policeman was killed and 26 others, including 21 German tourists and five Egyptians, were injured when a tourist bus overturned on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The accident occurred on a road between the Suez City and the Red Sea resort of Zafarana when the bus is heading for another popular resort Hurghada, some 400 km southeast of the Egyptian capital of Cairo.
Initial reports said the bus overturned on the road after one of its wheels burst, said the police.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospital and police said that two German tourists were transferred to a specialized hospital in Cairo due to serious conditions.
It was the second road accident in the same day.
Earlier, two vehicles collided Saturday on a road between Cairo and Faiyum, some 90 km south of the Egyptian capital, killing 16 Egyptians and seriously wounded four others.
The mishap occurred when a minibus collided head-on with a bus driving in the opposition direction on the road, said the police.
Road accidents are common in Egypt, which are often caused by overspeed and violation of traffic rules.
