Two roadside bombs went off in Baghdad separately on Sunday, killing a person and wounding six people, including a high-ranking police officer, an Interior Ministry source said.
Major General Ali Hussein, deputy police chief of eastern Baghdad area, was wounded and his driver was killed when a roadside bomb hit their vehicle in Waziriyah in central Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The attack occurred at 8:15 a.m. (0415 GMT) as Hussein was heading to his work, the source added.
In a separate incident, a roadside bomb rocked Baghdad's southern district of Doura, wounding five civilians, he said.
