China lunches energy efficiency week of 2006

Government department at the central level unfolded an "energy efficiency week" which would last from June 11 to 17, 2006, said the Government Offices Administration of the State Council yesterday.

During this week, a series of activities will be organized, including experiencing energy shortage and suspending the use of air conditioners and elevators below 6f of office buildings on July 13. Office workers are encouraged to go to work on foot or by bicycle for at least one day, instead of in private cars, and to count "how much electricity I use".
