The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday accused the United States of conducting aerial espionage along its coastal areas.

In a statement, an unnamed spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Korean People's Army(KPA) said the United States on Monday conducted a spy flight in the airspace over the eastern part of Hwadae County and other places along the eastern coast of the DPRK.

The statement, issued by the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), said "Such actions are serious provocations."

"The U.S. imperialist warmongers will be buried in the East Sea of Korea if they continue running amok without discretion despite our warnings," it said.

The statement followed a similar warning by the KPA Air Force on Sunday.

The DPRK said the United States conducted more than 170 spy flights over its territory in May.
