China produces more than 3.2 billion detonators a year, China's Ministry of Public Security announced Tuesday in Beijing.

Wu Heping, the ministry's spokesman, said at a press conference that each detonator produced has been numbered to facilitate management, adding that the serial number will not be duplicated in 10 years.
