Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pele, the Brazilian who is often considered the best soccer player of all time, said that Brazil's World Cup victory is not assured, even it is favorte, according to reports reaching here.

"In my life I have had a lot of surprises, and so I can't say that Brazil is certain to win the Cup," said Pele, who began his World Cup career in 1958. Pele played again in 1962.

"In the 1966 World Cup I felt exactly the same way as I feel known. Back then I injured myself and we lost," he said. "The most important thing is that we have a great team and I am very happy about that."

Pele scored 1,281 goals in his 21 years as a soccer player and was appointed minister of sport after he ended his playing career. He told German press that he would have liked to end the corruption in Brazilian soccer during his time as minister.
