A symposium on the issue of international security hosted by the Defense University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (DUPLA) came to an end in Beijing Wednesday.
Fifty-seven army officers and scholars shared their views on the relationship between the globalization and international, national and regional security, focusing on challenges and opportunities brought about by the globalization to the world and developing countries, in particular.
It is the fifth such academic event hosted by China's top military academy that has, over the past few years, stepped up its reforms, increased exchanges with foreign academies, and helped train more personnel from abroad.
Since 2001, the DUPLA has invited Chinese and foreign army officers and military experts and scholars to attend the symposium once every year, to increase exchanges and friendship with foreign institutions.
