Foreign presidents of SCO members leaves Shanghai

Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan left Shanghai after attending the summit meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The heads of state of include Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov and Uzbek President Islam Karimov.

The state heads of the three observer countries, Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad and Indian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora, as a representative of India, the fourth observer country, also left Shanghai.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Deputy Secretary-General Wilfrido. V. Villacorta of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), guests of the host country, also left Shanghai.

The SCO, an intergovernmental organization that comprises Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and China, was established in Shanghai in 2001.

Mongolia, Iran, India and Pakistan were accepted as SCO observers in 2004 and 2005.
