Sino-Norwegian relations are developing smoothly and the two nations have conducted fruitful cooperation in various fields, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said on Friday in Oslo.
In recent years, there have been frequent exchanges of high-level visits between China and Norway, said Li Changchun, the member of the Standing Committee of Political Bureau of the CPC's Central Committee, during a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and acting Norwegian Parliament President Karl Hagen.
Meanwhile, cooperation between the two countries in various fields such as politics, economy and trade, culture, education, science and technology as well as tourism has increased constantly and yielded remarkable results, Li said.
Li is on a good-will visit to Norway, the last leg of his four-nation tour which has taken him to Uzbekistan, Bulgaria and Switzerland. He arrived in Oslo Thursday evening and will leave for China on Monday.
Norway and China established diplomatic relations on Oct. 5, 1954 and exchanged ambassadors in 1955.
