A bomb exploded Saturday night inside a hotel in Thailand's southern province of Yala, causing at least one dead and two injured, a military source told Xinhua.
The remote-controled bomb blasted at about 9:30 p.m. local time (1430 GMT) on Saturday inside the Yala Rama hotel in downtown Yala city, capital of Yala Province.
A female employee of the hotel died on the spot and two others were injured. The source said a suspect went into the Karaoke room of the hotel and then quickly left the venue minutes before the explosion.
Local police said the attack was suspected to be carried out by southern insurgents, as a total of 50 bombs exploded in three southern provinces during the last two days.
On Thursday, more than 40 bombs attacked local government buildings and police stations, leaving two dead and dozens injured.
On Friday morning, eight homemade bombs simultaneously exploded at railway stations in Narathiwat, Yala and Pattani, causing one dead and scores of injured.
At least 1,200 people have been killed since unrest broke out in January 2004 in the provinces along Thailand's border with Malaysia. The violence was blamed on a complex web of Islamic separatists, local corruption and organized crime.
