World crude oil prices fell slightly Tuesday on the eve of U.S. energy stocks report, as concerns over Iran eased.
New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in July, dropped 4 cents to end at 68.94 dollars per barrel.
In London, Brent North Sea crude for August delivery sank 3 cents to 68.108 dollars per barrel in closing trade. Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday his country is ready to enter talks with European countries without any preconditions to clarify Tehran's position on the new nuclear offer by six major world powers.
Iranian officials are studying the package of incentives by the six major powers and will inform European countries of Iran's position as soon as they finish work, he said.
The package, aimed at getting Tehran to halt nuclear enrichment, was backed by the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany and presented to Iran by European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana.
U.S. Energy Department will published its weekly energy stocks report Wednesday.
