Bush praises China's role in Korean Peninsula nuke issue
font size

US President George W Bush on Wednesday praised China for its efforts to resolve the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue.

Answering a question at the closing press conference after the European Union (EU)-US summit in Vienna, Bush said he was "very pleased" that the Chinese government had always striven to contribute to the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula.

Bush said he favored the six-party talks on resolving the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, and he was also "pleased" that China took a "responsibility" in the talks.
