Top leader of Nepali guerrilla Prachanda has said that the Nepali Army and the guerrilla's army could be united before the election to a Constituent Assembly, the Himalayan Times reported Saturday.
Prachanda told the newspaper here on Friday that "an interim government will be formed after the drafting of an interim constitution. The new government can unite the two armies before the Constituent Assembly poll."
"The United Nations will supervise the two armies," Prachanda said.
He said that the latest eight-point agreement between the government and the guerrilla was the improved form of the 12-point agreement reached on Nov. 22, last year.
"The success of the people's movement was obtained with the help of the 12-point pact and the 10-year-long people's war," he said.
On budget management, he said, "We are accused of extorting cash. If we have to discontinue collecting donation, a budget should be allocated for us also."
