    Buffett to donate $37 bln to Gates foundation

    The railway station with world's largest transparent roof

    The photo shows the waiting hall of the Shanghai South Railway Station which is able to accommodate 16,000 passengers. The Shanghai South Railway Station, with world's largest circular transparent roof, started its trial operation Monday, June 26, 2006. The station will attract 1/3 of passengers from the Shanghai Railway Station once it formally opens on July 1.

    Russian hostages killed, group linked to al-Qaida says

    The Video grab shows a Russian diplomat who was kidnapped on June 3 in Baghdad. A group linked to the al-Qaida terror network in Iraq announced on Sunday that it had executed four Russian Embassy workers it kidnapped in Baghdad, the pan-Arab al-Arabiya satellite TV reported.

    Russia launches new military satellite

    A Tsiklon-2 rocket carrying the Kosmos satellite blasts off from the Baikonur cosmodrome at 08:00 Moscow time (0400 GMT) and the satellite has entered a target orbit, according to Russian Space Troops spokesman Alexei Kuznetsov.

The forum sponsored by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Liaoning provincial government was held in Huludao on Sunday. A total of 1.05 million Japanese emigrants, victims of their country's colonial expansion, were repatriated from China's port Huludao to Japan from May 7, 1946 to 1948.
