Chinese NPC vice-chairman meets Sri Lankan parliament speaker

Xu Jialu, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), the country's top legislature, met in Beijing Sunday with Sri Lankan Parliament Speaker W. J. M. Lokubandara.

Lokubandara, who leads a parliament delegation, arrived in Beijing Sunday, kicking off a six-day official goodwill visit to China.

The delegation is visiting China at the invitation of Wu Bangguo, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee. Besides Beijing, the delegation will visit Hangzhou, capital city of east China's Zhejiang Province and Shanghai, China's economic and financial hub.
