General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Lao President Choummaly Sayasone arrived in Beijing Tuesday morning, starting his one-week state visit to China.

Choummaly came at the invitation of Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese President.

It is Choummaly's first China visit since he was elected party chief in March and president in June respectively.
