China, Laos pledge to strengthen bilateral relations

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with his Laotian counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith in Beijing on Tuesday, vowing to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation.

The two sides agreed to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries to promote the development of the China-Laos good-neighborly and friendly relationship of cooperation.

Thongloun is a member of the entourage of the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Lao President Choummaly Sayasone, who came at the invitation of Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese President.
