Macao's jobless rate slightly drops

Macao Special Administrative Region saw a 3.8-percent unemployment rate in the statistic period of March to May, down 0.1 percent over the previous term of February to April, according to official statistics issued Wednesday.

The figures from the Statistics and Census Service showed that the number of jobless residents seeking their first job was around 800, or 7.7 percent of the unemployed population, from March to May.

Macao's total labor force was estimated at 271,000 in the period, the figures showed.

Macao has a population of nearly 500,000.
