General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Lao President Choummaly Sayasone visited Chinese central province of Henan Wednesday.
In his meeting with Li Chengyu, deputy secretary of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Choummaly expressed his pleasure to see the rapid economic, social and cultural development scored by the province under the leadership of the Chinese central government.
"I had very good discussions with President Hu Jintao yesterday and we reached very important common understanding about promoting the bilateral all-round friendly and cooperative relations", Choummaly told Li, expressing his belief that the bilateral ties will continue to grow to a higher level with the joint efforts of Laos and China.
Echoing Choummaly's views, Li, who is also the governor of Henan Province, said that the common understanding reached between the two state leaders have set a clear direction for the future development of the bilateral friendly and cooperative relations.
As one of China's major provinces, Henan is ready to make its own efforts to boost the bilateral relations, he said.
Choummaly arrived in China Monday at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao. He also visited an industrial processing company, an agricultural project and the famous Shaolin Temple during his Henan tour.
