The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) announced Thursday that it has appointed Liu Qibao as the secretary of the CPC committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, replacing his predecessor Cao Bochun.

On the same day, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) appointed Shi Xiushi and Cao as deputy heads of two special committees of the NPC, respectively.

Shi, governor of southwestern Guizhou Province, is now deputy head of the NPC Financial and Economic Committee, and Cao has become deputy head of the NPC Environmental and Resources Protection Committee.
