The first tunnel across Qiangtang River began building on June 28th in Hangzhou City, Zhejinga Province. With four lanes open (two in each direction); the tunnel will have a main traffic line 3,024 meters long and a driving speed that reaches 60 kilometers per hour. Around 1.95 billion Yuan has been invested and it is predicted that it will be established by the year 2010.
