64 malaria cases found in central Nepal

As many as 64 patients of malaria have been detected in Sindhuli district in central Nepal this year, District Health Office said in a statement Sunday.

According to the health office, the health workers randomly collected 3,075 slides of blood samples and 64 of them were found with symptoms of malaria.

According to Ram Rasa Funyal, malaria invigilator, last year they found 48 cases of malaria out of 773 samples in the same area.

He said that the patients were given free treatment in the local level and the district health office has been sprinkling insecticide in the malaria-affected areas.
