An earthquake measuring 5.1 degrees on the Richter scale jolted Wen'an county of north China's Hebei Province, close to Beijing and Tianjin, at 11:56 a.m. (Beijing Time) Tuesday, according to the State Seismological Bureau.

No casualties are reported at press time. The earthquake has been felt in Beijing.
