font size

The National Pensions Scheme Authority (NAPSA) nets 12 billion kwacha (about 3.5 million U.S. dollars) per month from over 365,000 companies in Zambia for their employees' contributions, Zambia Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

NAPSA public affairs manager Mumbuna Kufekisa was quoted as saying Monday that the authority is now able to pay workers who have reached retirement.

He said in Ndola, the capital of Copperbelt province that NAPSA will prosecute the companies which are not remitting their workers ' contributions.

NAPSA asset base has reached 1 trillion kwacha (about 394 million dollars).

NAPSA has launched an education campaign to sensitize employees and employers on the importance of remitting funds, registering and submitting details, the manage said.
