German stocks opened lower on Wednesday on the Frankfurt market.

The 30-share DAX index dropped 0.50 percent or 28.80 points to 5,700.21 at 09:29 a.m. (0829 GMT).

The MDAX index of medium-sized companies was down 0.66 percent or 55.00 points to 7,941.42.

The TecDAX index of technologies and science firms was down 0.50 percent to 669.05 points.
