International talents fair to be held in northeast China
font size

Shenyang, capital city of Liaoning Province in northeast China, will host the Conference on International Exchange of Professional which will be held from Sept. 19 to 21 this year.

The event is the only national platform for international talents exchange which is approved by the State Council. This year it is sponsored by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA), the Liaoning provincial government and Shenyang municipal government.

It is estimated that the fair will attract 15,000 participants from home and abroad. Among them 5,000 are foreign experts or officials from 700 institutions from 30 countries, such as Russia, U.S., Japan, South Korea and Germany.

Special exhibition space will be given to participants from Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States. More than 300 experts from that area will turn up at the event.

Promotion of projects is also highlighted. About 1,800 items have been collected so far, involving machinery manufacturing, electronics, oil and chemical, mining, health care, etc.

To revitalize China's old industrial base, the northeast area urgently needs professionals in sectors of equipment manufacturing, raw material, agricultural products processing, electronics, logistics and finance. The R&D of advanced CNC machine tools, in particular, calls for hi-end technicians.

There were 29,605 foreign experts working in Liaoning last year. The number ranks the sixth in China. Shenyang plans to recruit 2,500 foreign experts every year in the years to follow and has set up special fund to attract talents.
