font size

Zambia's ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) has formed a 15-man national campaign committee for the tripartite elections late this year, Times of Zambia reported Thursday.

Announcing the formation of the team here Wednesday MMD national secretary Katele Kalumba said the committee will work closely with other members of the ruling party.

The team is led by Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Vernon Mwaanga, who is also chief government spokesman.

Kalumba said a three-man campaign fundraising committee has also be set up.

The two committees will work closely with the MMD national secretariat in the orchestration of the MMD campaign this year, said Kalumba.
