In a bid to increase the flow of tourists after Nepal moving towards peace and stability, the government of Nepal disseminated latest tourism information and situation updates of the country to Chinese travel trade operators.
A press statement issued by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) here on Thursday said over 140 tour operators and media representatives were present Wednesday at the press conference organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation in cooperation with NTB in Beijing.
According to the statement, the Nepalese delegation also briefed the Chinese tour operators about the new tourism brand " Naturally Nepal - Once is not enough".
Special focus was given to the promotion of Nepal as a Buddhist pilgrimage destination.
Charge de Affaires at Nepal Embassy Suresh Pradhan informed about various tourism attractions of Nepal and requested all to contact the Embassy for information or assistance to visit Nepal.
Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Govinda P Pandey assured the gathering that peace now prevailed in Nepal, which had been brought about recently by the people's movement.
Pandey also informed that the government was in process of preparing a comprehensive new tourism policy and master plan for guiding Nepal's tourism development and marketing, adding, "Nepal will not leave any stone unturned to make the tourists visit memorable and pleasurable."
On the occasion, former Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Li De Biao, shared his experience and tenure as ambassador to Nepal.
Acting Managing Director of Nepal Airlines Corporation KB Poudel said that Nepal was connected to China via Shanghai, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
Addressing the meeting, Binay Prakash Shrestha, Director Nepal Tourism Board said that Nepal was a perfect gateway for the Chinese tourist offering pilgrimage, numerous adventures, cultural and natural attractions.
He shed light on the new Nepal Brand "Naturally Nepal-Once is not enough" recently developed by Nepal Tourism Board for comprehensive marketing of Nepal.
