Six Zambians to monitor elections in Sweden
font size

Sweden has invited six Zambians to monitor the elections in their country scheduled for September this year, Times of Zambia reported Friday.

Swedish ambassador to Zambia Christina Rehlen was quoted as saying that those invited are individuals from various interested groups.

At the graduation of messengers of peace and good governance in Kitwe, northern Zambia, she said "we have already invited these people and Zambians will also have a chance to monitor our elections in Sweden."

She is confident that Zambia's elections this year will go smoothly because the Election Commission of Zambia has prepared adequately for the tripartite election late this year.

Representatives from the ruling and opposition parties in the southern African country attended the graduation.
