Senior Chinese official appeals to young Japanese legislators to improve bilateral ties
font size

A senior Chinese official on Saturday appealed to young Japanese legislators to become the "driving force" in promoting Sino-Japanese friendship and play a positive role in realizing a sound and steady development of bilateral ties.

State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan made the remarks while meeting with a Japanese delegation of young members of parliament, who were in Beijing for a Sino-Japanese friendship forum, in the Chinese capital.

Ichiro Aisawa, acting secretary general of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, is the head of the dozen-member, multi-party group.

Tang and the delegation members exchanged views on Sino-Japanese ties and the situation in Northeast Asia.
