Nepali govt reiterates commitment to peace process

The Nepali government has expressed commitment to continue the peace process with the guerrillas.

In its policies and programs presented at the House of Representatives on Sunday, the government said it will restore lasting peace in the country as per the people's aspiration by holding election of the Constituent Assembly in an fearless environment as per the agreement between the government and the guerrillas.

The government will implement the agreements including arms management reached between the government and the guerrillas.

Because of illness of Prime Minister Girija Rasa Koirala, Deputy Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli presented the Seven Party Alliance government's policies and programs on behalf of the prime minister.

This is the first time that policies of the government were presented in the parliament by the prime minister.

In the past, the king used to outline the government's policies in the joint session of the parliament
