A car runs from the ship Koh Nang at Dalian auto dock. The largest auto roll-on dock in China, Dalian auto dock, was put into operation on July 6, 2006. The dock will satisfy various types of ships' demands for berth and operation round the clock.

Baghdad erupts in mob violence
A man who was attacked by the militants waits for treatment in a hospital in Baghdad on July 9. Some Shiite Muslim militants attacked a Sunni residence on that day. The death toll from the shootings alone reached to more than 40 reported by some news services.

Tai Shan (R), a giant panda cub, digs into a special frozen treat with his mother Mei Xiang at the Washington National Zoo on its first birthday July 9, 2006. 164 poisoned in chlorine gas leakage
A doctor gives emergency treatment to a patient who is poisoned by chlorine in the 120 Emergency Center in Yinchuan, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, July 10, 2006. One hundred and sixty-four people poisoned by chlorine have been sent to hospital by 8 a.m. Monday. The leakage of the chlorine gas has been controlled and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

F-35 Joint Strike Fighter unveiled
The first F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, known as the Lightning II, is unveiled at Fort Worth, Texas, July 7, 2006. The Lightning II is designed to meet the needs of the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps and will be used as replacement of the F-18s, F-16 and AV-8B. The first flight for the aircraft is set for later this year.
