CBC becomes most profitable bank

The Top 300 Asian Banks, issued by Asia Week, shows that China Construction Bank (CBC) is the most profitable one in the whole of Asia, which is based on two indices of net profit and net interest income.

It indicates that the profitable capability of CBC takes the leading position not only among major state-owned banks at home, but also among peer banks in Asia, said a CBC bank official.

Nevertheless, the fact that the source of profit for CBC hinges mainly on the traditional interest margin also suggests its risk for development.

The Top 300 Asian Banks also shows the net interest income of CBC is 41.2 percent higher than that of UFJ, which ranks the first in term of the assets.
