The United States is expected to promote its high-tech exports to China to ease the trade imbalance between the two economies, said commerce ministry spokesman Chong Quan.
His remarks followed the preliminary rules on US export controls to China, which were published by the US government last week.
The US has revised export control rules relating to technology exports to China. The rules affect 47 categories of high-tech products.
"We hope the US will get rid of the conception of a Cold War and will take constructive measures to promote two-way high-tech trade, to help solve the trade imbalance between our two countries," said Chong.
Chong said the Chinese Government attaches great significance to the US rules and is conducting further research on them.
He said official comments would only be made when the government had gauged industry opinions.
But he said any unreasonable obstacles to trade between the two counties would go against the interests of enterprises from both sides, as well as the development of the Sino-US economic relationship.
Experts hold different opinions on the new rules, under which Chinese companies need to apply for licences from the US government instead of their US sellers.
Some experts said the revised and enhanced rules are positive for both US exporters and Chinese users, but more expect the US side to make further concrete moves.
