DPRK's senior legislator arrives in Beijing for friendship treaty commemorations

Yang Hyong Sop, vice president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), arrived in Beijing Tuesday morning for a five-day visit.

During his stay in Beijing, Sop will meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao and top legislator Wu Bangguo.

Sop's visit comes when China and DPRK are holding commemorations to mark the anniversary of a friendship treaty. Sop will attend the commemorations in Beijing.

Tuesday coincides with the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between China and DPRK.
