Zhou Tienong, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, on Wednesday met with a friendship delegation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

The delegation was led by Ri Yong Dok, deputy chairman of the central committee of the DPRK-China Friendship Association.

The delegation's visit comes when China and the DPRK are holding commemorations to mark the anniversary of a friendship treaty. The delegation has attended the commemorations in Beijing.

Tuesday coincides with the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between China and the DPRK.
