Wang Jiarui, senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met in Beijing with Josep Borrell Fontelles, the President of the European Parliament, on Wednesday.

Wang said, "In recent years, the CPC has developed close ties with the European Parliament's various political parties and groups. We are quite satisfied with this. We also hope this good relationship can be further enriched. In order to increase both side's understanding, we should make new efforts to promote the good relations between China and Europe.

Borrell said that he witnessed huge changes happening in China through this visit and thus had a new understanding of China.

Getting to know the real China is the best way to dispel any misunderstandings and to solve any problems, he said. .
