According to People's Daily on Tuesday, China's exports and imports in the first half of 2006 totaled US$795.74 billion, an increase of 23.4 percent form the same period of last year.
Exports jumped by 25.2 percent to US$428.59 billion and imports rose by 21.3 percent to US$367.15 billion.
Exports and imports in June amounted to US$148.12 billion, up by 21.3 percent over last year. Exports climbed by 23.3 percent to US$81.31 billion and imports grew by 18.9 percent to US$66.81 billion.
In the firs half of this year, general trade increased by 22.9 percent to US$342.28 billion, accounting for 43 percent of US$795.74, and processed trade jumped by 22.6 percent to US$374.83 billion, making up 47.1 percent.
